Like so many parents and families for that matter we have tons of photographs. Pics from when I was a kid, when digital had not been mass marketed at all. Some of them were still in black and white and when my parents passed I inherited some from the early 1900s, now that’s amazing. It’s amazing to see my Grandfather as a young man and my Nana as an attractive young woman. But the photos I love the most are the ones of my children. It captures a moment frozen in time as they race through their lives wanting to be older. A wise friend of mine once told me “We spend the first half of our lives trying to be old and the second half trying to be young.”
My son is embarking on a wonderful part of his journey. He is about to get married. How amazing. I hope they keep lots of photos so they too can look back and remember how they were when they were newly in love and life was one exciting adventure after another.
I’m in trouble with these two. Every fathers joy and nightmare.
